Guar Meal is the by product obtained during processing of Guar Seeds [Cyamopsis Tetragonoloba ] for splits. The normal composition of seeds is:

The ingredients of Guar Seeds are:
(1) Endosperm
(2) Germ
(3) Husk

The first one is Guar Splits and the last two are Guar Meals.
The Guar Meal is rich in Proteins and Carbohydrates and is 100% natural agricultural product.
It is nutritional feed and can be used as fodder by itself or in addition to other feed.
Some of the known advantages of processed Guar Meal [Fodder] are:

  • It is free from Salmonella, Aflatoxin & E. Coli, which often infects Cottonseed Meal.
  • Guar Meal can also be used as feed for Pig, Chicken and Duck.
  • 100 % non GMO product.
  • It can be used as a binding agent for palletizing other feed compounds due to presence of Residual Gum.

Technical Information

Processed Guar Meal (Fodder) is a high protein feed stuff. It is widely used as partial substitute of Soya Bean Meal.

Studies were conducted at

  • Milk dairy where it was found that the cows fed with Guar Meal give bit more milk with increased percentage of fat contents without any change in flavour.
  • University of Agriculture where the study showed that birds grew better and gainedgood weight when fed with Guar Meal. The results showed the following properties/values:
    • Good source of CP: 89.65 % as true protein
    • NFE ( Soluble Carbohydrates ) : 40%
    • Crude Fiber contents : 10%
    • ADF ( Acid Detergent Fiber ) 17.77%
    • NDF ( Neutral Detergent Fiber ) 31.22%
    • GE ( Gross Energy ) : 4280 kcal/kg
    • AME ( ApparentMetabolizable Energy) : 57.16%
    • TME (True Metabolized Energy ) : 2698 kcal/kg
